Jets LB Josh Mauga will miss the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
Head coach Rex Ryan confirmed Tuesday morning that Mauga suffered a pec injury in Monday night’s loss to the Texans, but didn’t know the severity.
Mauga, a third-year player, has appeared in all five games this season and has five tackles. Last season, he played in every game with one start and had 25 tackles and one interception.
On Monday night, Mauga was on the field for 11 of 66 defensive snaps and had three tackles.
Mehta also reported that NT Kenrick Ellis will miss at least two games with a knee injury. Ellis started in place of NT Sione Po’uha and had six tackles on Monday night.
