The NFL is investigating why Bills DE Mario Williams hasn’t been listed on the injury report, according to Adam Schefter.
Williams has publicly complained about a wrist injury, but head coach Chan Gailey said that Williams has not missed a practice rep. The league’s policy on disclosing injuries is as follows, per Schefter: “All players with significant or noteworthy injuries must be listed on the report, even if the player takes all the reps in practice, and even if the team is certain that he will play in the upcoming game. This is especially true of key players and those players whose injuries have been covered extensively by the media. … This policy is of paramount importance in maintaining the integrity of the NFL.”
The Bills made Williams the highest-paid defensive player in league history when signing him this past March. Through four games he has nine tackles and 1½ sacks.
