Chiefs TE Kevin Boss will miss the rest of the season because of concussion issues, Romeo Crennel told reporters Wednesday.
According to Adam Teicher of The Kansas City Star, doctors told Boss they would not clear him to play this season.
Boss left the Chiefs’ Week Two game against the Bills with a concussion following a hit on a 29-yard catch. In his two starts, he had three catches for 65 yards and a touchdown.
TE Tony Moeaki, who missed all of 2011 with a torn ACL, has nine catches for 76 yards this season. The Chiefs also have Steve Maneri and Jake O’Connell at the position.
Boss was placed on injured reserve and the Chiefs signed LB Bryan Kehl to take his roster spot. Kehl has played in 59 games with five starts in his four NFL seasons. He has 58 tackles, one sack, one interception and two fumble recoveries.
