Jets WR Santonio Holmes was carted off the field Sunday after suffering what appeared to be a significant injury.
Holmes caught a pass in the fourth quarter and went down and fumbled the ball, which the 49ers returned for a touchdown. Holmes was not hit on the play — it was a similar non-contact injury to last week’s ACL injury to Darrelle Revis. While it looked like a knee injury, the Jets announced that Holmes suffered a foot injury.
Holmes had four catches for 29 yards before the injury. He entered the game as the Jets’ leader in receptions and receiving yards.
