Bills RB C.J. Spiller left Sunday’s game against the Browns with a shoulder injury and did not return.
Spiller appeared to land hard on his left shoulder as Browns FS Usama Young landed on him at the end of a catch-and-run. He was helped off the field and ruled out for the game.
After the game, head coach Chan Gailey told reporters that he didn't believe the injury was long-term. "He's out for a week or two, but I don't know how extensive it is. ... I think he's going to be out for sure this week and then we'll see where he goes from there." Gailey said Spiller did not suffer a broken collarbone.
Spiller had four rushes for 16 yards and a 32-yard touchdown catch in the game. He entered Sunday with 292 rushing yards and a 10.1-yard rushing average through two games.
Tashard Choice replaced Spiller, as Fred Jackson remains out with an LCL injury.
