Redskins QB Robert Griffin III, Buccaneers DB Ronde Barber and Vikings PK Blair Walsh were named the NFC Players of the Week for Week One.
In Griffin's NFL debut, the No. 2 overall pick completed 19-of-26 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns, good for a 139.9 passer rating, in the Redskins' upset 40-32 win in New Orleans. He is the first rookie QB to throw for 300 yards and win a season opener.
Barber, who started his NFL-record 200th consecutive game at cornerback, had an interception, sack, five tackles and two passes defensed in Tampa Bay's win over the Panthers.
Walsh converted all four field-goal attempts, including a 55-yard field goal as time expired to force overtime in the Vikings' Week One game against the Jaguars. The rookie then hit a 38-yarder in overtime to give Minnesota the win.
