LOCK OF THE WEEK

Which of your picks do you feel strongest about and why?

Hub Arkush: The Saints got caught napping last week at home and can’t afford another mistake now. Saints run up the score and Panthers can’t keep up.

Keith Schleiden: The Jaguars hung tight with the Vikings until overtime last week, but they will be facing a different animal in the Texans in Week Two. Houston wins by double digits.

Mike Holbrook: I don’t like the Cardinals at all. Traveling to the East Coast is a huge detriment, as is their uncertainty at QB in a game in which they have to score to stay close.

Dan Arkush: The Cardinals are coming off a Week One high after beating the Seahawks, but they normally have huge problems in games in the Eastern time zone.

Eric Edholm: The Niners will frustrate the Lions with their patience and power — if the Rams could do this Sunday, then no problem with a repeat performance in San Fran.

Mike Wilkening: This is a tough spot for the Browns, even with the Bengals having a short week of preparation. Cincinnati won’t overlook Cleveland after two close games in 2011.

Dan Parr: I don’t see the Patriots letting up against the Cardinals. After facing the Seahawks, New England will be a shock to Arizona’s system. This should be a blowout win.

Kevin Fishbain: The Jaguars are an improved club, but the Texans are a much better all-around team and that defense should give Jacksonville fits up front.

Arthur Arkush: Given Jacksonville’s offensive line issues, I envision Blaine Gabbert taking a step back under constant duress from Wade Phillips’ bunch.
