The NFL suspended Browns CB Joe Haden for four games without pay for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Haden’s suspension begins immediately and he can return to the Browns’ active roster on Monday, Oct. 8.

Browns president Mike Holmgren confirmed last week that Haden was appealing his suspension. ESPN Cleveland reported earlier in the summer that Haden was facing a suspension for using Adderall.

A third-year pro, Haden had six tackles and an interception, which he returned 50 yards, in the Browns’ Week One loss to the Eagles. He had 19 passes defensed last season and 18 along with six picks as a rookie in 2010.
