Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said QB John Skelton has a low ankle sprain and is not ruled out for Week Two.
Skelton was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Seahawks. Kevin Kolb replaced Skelton and led the Cardinals to a game-winning touchdown.
The prognosis is better than both a potential fracture and high ankle sprain. When asked if Skelton would be the starter when he returns, Whisenhunt said, “I don’t even know why that would be a question.”
Adam Caplan of The Sideline View reported that the Cardinals have been calling around for quarterbacks. Before the injury, Skelton completed 14-of-28 passes for 148 yards and one interception.
