The Saints announced Saturday that they had placed DE Will Smith on their roster.
Smith and Saints LB Jonathan Vilma had their suspensions in connection with the franchise's pay-for-performance scandal overturned on Friday, as did Browns LB Scott Fujita and free-agent DL Anthony Hargrove. The 31-year-old Smith started 14 games for New Orleans in 2011, notching 6½ sacks.
The Saints announced they have received a roster exemption for Vilma, who's recovering from a knee injury. They also received a roster exemption for LB Barrett Ruud, whom they acquired from Seattle in the preseason.
In other roster moves, the Saints released WR Adrian Arrington and FB Korey Hall, and they placed OT Marcel Jones on injured reserve.
