The Broncos released reserve QB Caleb Hanie, the club announced Saturday.
According to The Denver Post and NFL.com, Hanie's salary of $1 million was guaranteed were he on the Week One roster, and he was also due a $250,000 bonus if he were on the Week One roster.

Hanie started four games in 2011 for Chicago, throwing three TDs and nine interceptions after Jay Cutler left the lineup with a wrist injury. He also filled in for the injured Cutler in the 2010 NFC Championship game, throwing for 153 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in defeat.
To replace Hanie, the club promoted DT Sealver Siliga from the practice squad.
