The Steelers placed rookie OG David DeCastro on the injured reserve “designated for return” list on Friday, the team announced.

DeCastro suffered a significant knee injury in the Steelers’ third preseason game. He is eligible to be reactivated later in the season and can return after eight weeks. DeCastro was the 24th overall pick of the 2012 draft.

The Steelers also announced the signing of second-year CB DeMarcus Van Dyke.
