Ravens WR Anquan Boldin has been impressed with Torrey Smith’s approach to the game after a successful rookie season.
“You have young guys that come in, and they have success right off the bat. A lot of them think they have it figured out. But for him, he’s still a humble guy,” Boldin said of Smith, a second-year wideout from Maryland who racked up 841 yards and seven scores as a rookie. “He’s still willing to learn, willing to come out and work hard everyday. So I think for me, that’s the thing that stands out the most.”
Boldin, who’s entering his 10th NFL season, has developed into a mentor over the years. He laughed as he remembered himself as a “bright-eyed rookie eager to impress everyone” when he entered the NFL in 2003. Now, he sees himself as "a real student of the game,” someone who’s willing to teach others.
“I’ve been through a lot, I’ve learned a lot, so I’m able pass that along to a lot of these younger guys that I’ve played with,” Boldin said.
