PFW Cardinals correspondent Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reported Friday evening that the Cardinals had traded CB A.J. Jefferson to the Vikings for undisclosed draft compensation.
Jefferson, 24, is entering his third NFL season. He moved into the starting lineup for the Cardinals last season, starting seven games and finished with 66 tackles, 12 passes defensed and one interception.
He signed a one-year deal with Arizona in March that included a base salary of $540,000 and a small workout bonus.
The Vikings lack depth at the CB position and likely jumped at the chance to add a young player with starting experience.
