The Chargers announced several vested veterans among their cuts Friday evening, including PK Nick Novak, DE Jacques Cesaire and FB Jacob Hester.

Also released were OTs Anthony Davis and Mario Henderson.

The team waived RB Edwin “Rock” Baker, C-OG Colin Baxter, LB Bront Bird, OG-OT Charlie Bryant, LB Ricky Elmore, LB Darryl Gamble, CB Greg Gatson, DE Logan Harrell, CB Arthur Hobbs, QB Jarrett Lee, P Robert Malone, CB DeAndre Presley, DE Damik Scafe, OG-OT Stephen Schilling, TE Kory Sperry and WR Mike Willie.

It also placed S Sean Cattouse on injured reserve.

The cut of Novak means that Nate Kaeding won the heated PK competition the team held this summer. Kaeding was the team's kicker until he was injured Week One last season and Novak came aboard to kick the rest of the 2011 season.
