The Bears cut No. 3 QB Josh McCown on Friday, his agent, Mike McCartney said.

McCown, whom the team added late last season after Jay Cutler was injured and Caleb Hanie was ineffective, played extensively Thursday night in the team's fourth preseason game. However, with Cutler and Jason Campbell entrenched in the top two QB spots, it was clear McCown's roster spot was in danger if the team decided not to keep three QBs.
