QB Andy Dalton could not escape the Bengals' final preseason game unscathed.

Dalton suffered a right arm bruise during the team's first offensive series in Cincinnati's exhibition battle against the Colts Thursday. He left the game after suffering the injury on a hard hit and is not expected to return.

A second-year veteran, Dalton started every game for the Bengals last season. He completed 58 percent of his passes, throwing for 3,398 yards, 20 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
