The Redskins have agreed to a deal with former Ravens PK Billy Cundiff, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday.
In addition, the Redskins have released PK Graham Gano, who's held the position the last two seasons. ESPN 980 in Washington first reported the move.
Wrote Gano on Twitter: "I would like to thank the Redskins organization for the 3 years I spent with them. I will miss my teammates and I wish you the best of luck!"
Cundiff connected on 28-of-37 field goals in the 2011 regular-season, but he badly missed a game-tying 32-yard field goal in the waning moments of the AFC title game at New England. Rookie Justin Tucker beat out Cundiff for the Ravens' PK job this summer.
"Yes, it's confirmed ... Congratulations to Billy Cundiff on joining the Redskins this morning!" Paul Sheehy, Cundiff's agent, wrote on Twitter this morning.
