The Steelers announced that they have released 15 players Monday to get down to the 75-man roster limit.

The team let go of LB Ryan Baker, DT Mike Blanc, WR Paul Cox, CB Andre Freeman, PK Daniel Hrapmann, OL Kyle Jolly, LS Matt Katula, TE Jamie McCoy, CB Walter McFadden, TE Justin Peelle, S Myron Rolle, WR Juamorris Stewart, DT Kade Weston and WR Jimmy Young.

Also, LB Mortty Ivy was added to the Waived/Injured list.

The most notable name of the cuts probably is Peelle, whom the team signed on Aug. 13 after David Johnson was lost for the season with a torn ACL. However, he apparently lost a battle with Leonard Pope for a backup job behind starter Heath Miller.
