The Falcons got to the 75-player roster limit by waiving QB John Parker Wilson and placing DT Corey Peters on the reserve/non-football injury list.
Peters, who has started 30-of-31 career games after being selected by Atlanta in the third round of the 2010 draft, has not participated this preseason because of a foot injury he suffered away from the team’s training facility prior to the start of training camp.
The 6-3, 305-pound Kentucky product has emerged as a key performer on the Falcons' defensive line and will be missed while he is sidelined. The earliest he can return is Oct. 28 against the Eagles, following the Falcons' bye week.
Wilson, a 6-2, 215-pound Alabama product, spent the past two seasons as the Falcons' third quarterback. s. It appears that undrafted rookie free agent Dominique Davis has earned the No. 3 QB job behind Matt Ryan and Chris Redman after impressing the coaching staff during training camp.
