The Browns made several moves on Monday, including placing NT Phil Taylor on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.
The hope is that Taylor, who tore a pectoral muscle during the offseason, will be healthy enough after the sixth week of the regular season to be added to the active roster. He was a strong performer as a rookie starter last season.
The Browns added to their DL depth Monday when they were awarded DL Ernest Owusu off waivers from Minnesota. The 6-4, 275-pound Owusu was signed as an undrafted free agent out of California by the Vikings on May 5.
Cleveland also waived/injured DL Marcus Benard (elbow), DL Auston English and DB Antwuan Reed and placed LBs Chris Cocong and Emmanuel Acho on season-ending injured reserve.
