The Steelers parted ways with special-teams coach Al Everest, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.
Everest was hired on Jan. 21, 2010 and spent the last two seasons with Pittsburgh. Prior to that, he coached for three seasons with the 49ers, six with the Saints and four with the Cardinals.
Everest was named the Special-Teams Coach of the Year in 2007 by the Aguiar Kicking Acadmey. In 2002, he was the NFL Special-Teams Coach of the Year.
The way we see it
It’s unclear how the Steelers will proceed with Everest reportedly out of a job. It’s possible assistant special-teams coach Amos Jones could be in line for more responsibility.
