Rookie Russell Wilson will get the start for the Seahawks in their third preseason game on Friday night, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
Wilson, the team’s third-round pick, is competing with free-agent acquisition Matt Flynn for the starting job.
In his two preseason games, Wilson has completed 22-of-33 passes, throwing three touchdowns and one interception. He also has 92 yards rushing and a score on the ground.
Flynn, who started the first two games, has completed 17-of-26 passes. He has zero touchdown passes and one interception.
The Seahawks signed Flynn to a three-year, $26 million deal in March. Flynn had been a backup in Green Bay but in his one start last season, he threw for 480 yards and six touchdowns.
