Steelers WR Mike Wallace will report to the team over the weekend and sign his one-year tender, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Wallace will sign his contract after the Steelers return from their preseason game in Buffalo. The restricted free-agent tender is worth $2.742 million for the 2012 season.

Wallace has wanted a long-term deal, keeping him out of camp. The Steelers did sign WR Antonio Brown to a six-year extension worth $42.5 million. Per Bouchette, the Steelers do not negotiate contracts during the regular season, giving Wallace less than two weeks to try and get a long-term deal done.

Wallace, who will need to learn Todd Haley’s offense, had 72 catches for 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns last season.
