The Steelers have waived RB John Clay with an injury settlement, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Tuesday.
Clay suffered a quadriceps injury on Aug. 12. The Steelers waived-injured him on Aug. 14, and he reverted to injured reserve the next day after going unclaimed.
Clay, 24, rushed for 41 yards on 10 carries in 2011 for Pittsburgh, scoring a touchdown on his first regular-season rush. The second-year pro played collegiately at Wisconsin.
