Jake Locker will be the Titans' Week One starting quarterback, beating out veteran Matt Hasselbeck for the job, PFW correspondent Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean first reported.

Locker, the team's first-round pick in 2011, played in five games last season as a rookie. He completed 51.2 percent of his passes and threw four touchdown passes and zero interceptions.

In two preseason games, Locker is 11-of-24 passing for 101 yards, with zero touchdowns and one pick. Hasselbeck, who will turn 37 in September, was 9-of-14 this preseason with two picks. Hasselbeck started all 16 games last season for Tennessee.

Head coach Mike Munchak is expected to officially announce that Locker is the starter later on Monday. The Titans open the 2012 season against the Patriots.
