The Titans revealed Sunday that LB Gerald McRath will have season-ending surgery to repair a partially torn patella tendon in his left knee.
McRath, a 2009 fourth-round pick of Tennessee, tried to play through the injury after injuring the knee Aug. 6 in a practice against the Falcons. He was sitting out practices and having trouble running.
The 6-3, 228-pound McRath was a solid special-teams performer and saw time in passing situations on defense in 2011.
