Already getting heat for its mediocre performance early in the preseason, the Cardinals’ offensive line might have been dealt a serious blow due to the right triceps injury starting OLT Levi Brown suffered in the second quarter of Arizona’s 31-27 victory over the Raiders Friday evening.

While the official verdict remains out on the seriousness of Brown's injury (multiple reports Saturday morning were indicating that it was probably season-ending), the Cardinals feared for the worse after the game.

“It’s not like you can just call 1-800-left tackle,” Cardinals C Lyle Sendlein told the Arizona Republic after the game. “It’s the most important position on the offensive line. We’re just hoping that everything is all right.”

Brown, who hasn’t missed a game since his rookie season in 2007, is backed up by D.J. Young. But it’s more likely that veteran Jeremy Bridges, who has been competing this offseason for the starting ORT job, would replace Brown than Young, who was on the practice squad for most of 2011.

Brown was not available for comment after the game
