The Vikings announced Thursday they will take advantage of the NFL's new policy regarding local television blackouts by reducing their target number to 90 percent of Mall of America Field's capacity.

The stadium's capacity is roughly 64,000 fans. The same number of tickets will be available, but the VIkings only need to sell 90 percent of tickets to avoid a local TV blackout.

The Vikings went 144 consecutive games without a blackout at the Metrodome, but they had a 3-13 overall mark last season, including 1-7 at home — the franchise's worst record since 1984.
