The Texans reached an agreement on a new contract with OLT Duane Brown, PFW correspondent John McClain of the Houston Chronicle first reported.
The Texans later confirmed the new contract. Per McClain, Brown signed a six-year, $53.4 million extension with $22.08 million guaranteed. Brown will make an average $8.9 million per year.
Brown was entering a contract year. In his four seasons, he has started all 60 games he has played, including all 16 last season.
Brown was the Texans’ first-round pick (26th overall) in the 2008 draft.
