Bears MLB Brian Urlacher underwent multiple knee surgeries this offseason, according to a report.

It was initally believed that Urlacher had put off going under the knife until Tuesday, when the team announced he had undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, but CSN Chicago's John Mullin reports that it was not the first procedure perfomed on his knee in 2012.

Mullin reports Urlacher had surgery on the knee shortly after injuring it in a Week 17 game vs. the Vikings on Jan. 1 and that the procedure was similar to the one he underwent Tuesday. Urlacher also had surgery on his left knee in the spring, per the report.

The way we see it

There is already plenty of cause for concern when it comes to Urlacher's knee, and this report adds more fuel to the fire. The Bears have to keep hoping the centerpiece of their defense responds well to this latest surgery.
