Chad Johnson’s wife, Evelyn Lozada, has filed for divorce, according to TMZ. Lozada claimed that her marriage is “irretrievably broken.”

On Saturday, Johnson was arrested for domestic violence for allegedly head-butting Lozada when the two got into an argument over a receipt for a box of condoms. He was released from jail on Sunday morning.

The Dolphins cut Johnson on Sunday evening.

Earlier in the day Tuesday, Lozada released a statement saying that she’s “deeply disappointed” that Johnson hasn’t taken responsibility for his actions. She also said that Johnson’s accusation that she head-butted him is false.

The two were married on July 4.

Johnson released his first statement since the incident: "I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred.  I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death. I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies.  I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life."
