Cardinals starting QB Kevin Kolb left the Hall of Fame game in Canton Sunday evening with an injury. An NFL Network report at the game said the injury is a rib contusion.

Kolb was injured when Saints DT Sedrick Ellis dragged him down and landed on Kolb after he completed a pass to FB Anthony Sherman on the first play of the Cardinals' third series of the game. Kolb stayed down for awhile, then favored his right (throwing) arm on the way to the sideline.

Kolb, whose first throw of the game was intercepted by Saints FS Malcolm Jenkins, has been battling John Skelton for the Arizona starting job this summer. Skelton quickly warmed up and entered the game sooner than planned.
