Ravens PK Justin Tucker has made a favorable impression early in training camp, the way we hear it, and the undrafted free agent from Texas looms as a threat to at least push veteran Billy Cundiff. Tucker’s leg strength and accuracy have been assets to this point, we’re told. Preseason game performance could tell the tale in this competition. “I’ve always said this when I’m looking at kickers: It’s very much like quarterbacks, in my view,” Ravens special-teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg told Baltimore reporters on Aug. 2. “You really find out about them in games. You find out how they handle the situations, you find out how they handle the weather conditions, you find out a lot about a guy’s poise in games.” There’s sentiment that if Cundiff, the winner of PFW’s Golden Toe Award in 2010 as the NFL’s top kicker, stays in reasonably good form, he could be tough to overtake. However, how he bounces back after a missed field goal in the waning moments of the AFC championship game ended his '11 campaign is being closely watched.
