Browns LB Chris Gocong has suffered a torn right Achilles and could undergo season-ending surgery as early as Monday, per a report from The Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.
Head coach Pat Shurmur initially said he hoped the injury was not serious when Gocong suffered it during practice Saturday morning, but Cabot reports Shurmur confirmed that the Browns would be without Gocong's services for the rest of the season after tests were conducted.
Gocong, a seventh-year veteran, has started every game for the Browns over the past two seasons. He recorded 70 tackles and a career-high 3½ sacks in 2011.
