Texans DE J.J. Watt left practice on Thursday with an elbow injury.
“J.J.’s got an elbow issue that we’ve obviously got to evaluate here at lunch time and see what happens,” said head coach Gary Kubiak, per the team’s website. “I’m trying to smile. I’m concerned until we go find out what’s going on. But you know, I don’t want to say nothing. It’s his elbow, we’re gonna take a look at it. Hopefully, everything will be OK.”
Watt dislocated his elbow but had it popped back in. He is already rehabbing, Kubiak told reporters later on Thursday. "We dodged another bullet," he said. "We're very, very fortunate."
On Wednesday, OLT Duane Brown who left practice with an ankle injury, but X-rays were negative.
As a rookie last season, Watt started every game and had 56 tackles, 5½ sacks and four passes defensed. Kubiak said he expects Watt to be ready for Week One.
