Saints CB Jabari Greer underwent a sports hernia procedure, interim head coach Joe Vitt told reporters after Thursday’s practice. Greer suffered a groin injury on Tuesday.
“(Greer) will definitely be ready for the regular season. Some guys are quicker than others,” Vitt said.
Greer, a ninth-year veteran, started every game for New Orleans last season and had 71 tackles, 18 passes defensed and one interception. He has been with the Saints since 2009 after spending the first five seasons of his career with the Bills.
