Texans OLT Duane Brown injured his left ankle in Wednesday’s practice when a teammate fell into his leg.
Brown walked off the field under his own power and was then carted to Reliant Stadium for an MRI, according to the team’s website.
“He got rolled up, kind of got hit on the outside of his leg,” Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said. “It’s part of football, unfortunately. We’ll hold our breath. Hopefully, he’s OK.”
Later Wednesday afternoon, Kubiak said Brown should only miss a couple days. "We are lucky," he said. Brown added, "It's extremely scary. Once I got the X-rays and everything came out negative, I was extremely relieved."
Brown has started every game he has played in his four seasons with Houston, including all 16 last season. He is entering a contract year.
Rashad Butler took Brown’s place as the left tackle in practice.
