The NFL announced Tuesday that Packers OLB Erik Walden has been suspended one game for violating the league's personal-conduct policy.

If Walden, a fifth-year veteran, makes the final 53-man roster, he would miss the team's Week One game against the 49ers on Sept. 9. He is still eligible to participate in the team's preseason practices and games and will return to the active roster on Sept. 10.

Back in February, Walden reached a deferred judgment agreement to resolve a disorderly conduct-domestic abuse charge without pleading guilty. He spent Thanksgiving weekend last year in jail after a dispute with his girlfriend. He agreed to perform 50 hours of community service and continue counseling.

After starting 15 games in 2011 and collecting 60 tackles and three sacks, he was re-signed by the team in April. However, he was benched for the playoff loss to the Giants in favor of Brad Jones. The Packers then drafted OLB Nick Perry in the first round this past April and also have Vic So'oto at the OLB position.

As a result, Walden is not a lock to make the team this season.
