Redskins LB Jonathan Goff tore the ACL in his right knee for the second year in a row and will miss the 2012 campaign.

Head coach Mike Shanahan told reporters the news after Monday’s practice. Goff suffered the injury on Saturday.

"Can’t keep a good man down, though, he’ll be back," Shanahan said.

Goff signed with the Redskins in the spring after three seasons with the Giants. In 2010, he started every game and made 80 tackles.

To take Goff’s spot on the roster, the Redskins signed veteran OL Jordan Black, who last played in 2010 with the Jaguars when he played in 15 games with nine starts.

Shanahan also said that OG Kory Lichtensteiger is unlikely to play in the preseason, with the hope that he’ll be ready for Week One against the Saints. Lichtensteiger tore his ACL last season and is in line to start at left guard.
