The Chiefs signed LB Edgar Jones and placed S Kyle McCarthy on injured reserve, the team announced Monday.

Jones spent the past five seasons with the Ravens. He played in 41 games at linebacker and tight end. On defense, he has six tackles, 1½ sacks and a forced fumble. He has two career catches and 32 special-teams tackles. 

McCarthy signed with the Chiefs in February after two seasons with the Broncos. He suffered a knee injury in Saturday’s practice.
