With a brand new coaching staff and more than 50 new players, the Colts will have fierce competition during training camp at virtually every position. Thus, it is not unforeseeable that a few undrafted players carve out roles of some sort with the club, whether on the active roster or practice squad. After making strong impressions during the offseason program, OT Steven Baker and WR Jabin Sambrano were singled out by a daily team observer as players to keep an eye on. The source compared the 6-8, 310-pound Baker, who has surprisingly nimble movement skills, to a young Tarik Glenn, the three-time Pro Bowler and former blind-side protector of Peyton Manning. Sambrano, who drew praise from the coaching staff on more than one occasion this spring, is part of a crowded WR corps, but he has made the most of his opportunities. The source pointed to Sambrano’s versatility — he can line up inside and outside — and punt-return experience as positives working in his favor.
