Raiders WR Darrius Heyward-Bey pled no contest to DUI on Monday, multiple media outlets reported.
Heyward-Bey was charged in April after reportedly being pulled over on the Bay Bridge for multiple traffic offenses, including speeding.
The no contest plea to the charge, a misdemeanor, will likely make Heyward-Bey subject to discipline under the NFL's substance-abuse policy. According to the policy, a fine of up to $50,000 is "generally" the punishment for a first alcohol-related offense, "(absent) aggravating circumstances."
The 25-year-old Heyward-Bey is entering his fourth NFL season. His 2011 campaign was far-and-away his best, as he caught a career-high 64 passes for 975 yards and four TDs.
