Lions CB Aaron Berry was arrested for the second time in a month early Saturday. He was charged with three counts of simple assault for allegedly brandishing a firearm, the Harrisburg (Pa.) City police told the Lions’ website.

Last month, Berry was arrested for DUI and also charged two counts of failure to stop and give information to law enforcement and a pair of counts of causing accidental damage to an unattended vehicle or property. He planned to enter a Pennsylvania diversionary program.

The Lions released the following statement on Sunday: “We are extremely disappointed by the reports involving Aaron Berry. We are currently gathering more information and will have further comment when appropriate”

Berry played in 11 games with three starts for the Lions last season and had 11 passes defensed and 31 tackles. Berry was expected to compete for a starting cornerback spot this season.

Berry joins teammates DT Nick Fairley and RB Mikel Leshoure in having a second run-in with the law this offseason. Leshoure is suspended for the first two games of the regular season
