The Colts signed No. 1 overall pick QB Andrew Luck on Thursday, Mike Chappel of the Indianapolis Star first reported.
Colts owner Jim Irsay had been tweeting for several weeks that the signingi would occur soon, including the following tweet on Thursday afternoon: “12 will (be) signed, sealed (and) delivered without a hitch.”
Luck’s deal is expected to be a four-year contract worth $22.1 million with a $14.5 million signing bonus and a fifth-year team option. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Luck has no offset language in his contract, similar to the deal No. 2 overall pick Robert Griffin III signed on Wednesday. Last year’s No. 1 pick, Cam Newton, received a $22.02 million deal in the first year of the new rookie wage scale.
