The Chargers released DE Luis Castillo for the second time in more than five months on Thursday.
San Diego released Castillo in February, which was considered a cap move, as Castillo was set to earn a $1 million roster bonus in March. He returned to the team on a one-year deal on April 4.
Castillo broke his leg in last year’s season opener and missed the rest of the season. The seventh-year veteran started all 16 games in 2010. Castillo has 19 career sacks.
