The NFL and NFLPA announced Monday that they have agreed to extend the Collective Bargaining Agreement’s new Legacy benefits to approximately 330 widows and other survivors of eligible pre-1993 players.

The eligible beneficiaries will receive an increase in the amount they were receiving retroactive to Aug. 1, 2011. The NFL will pay for 51 percent of the fund and the NFLPA will pay 49 percent.

Retroactive checks will arrive within the next two weeks and monthly benefits will be received beginning Aug. 1.
