Broncos DE Elvis Dumervil was arrested Saturday and charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Court records indicate that Dumervil, who was arrested along with another man in Miami, is facing the third-degree felony charge in Miami-Dade County.

According to the police report, detailed on NFL.com, Dumervil was involved in a traffic dispute with a couple in another vehicle. Dumervil allegedly lifted his shirt to show a gun in his waistband after approaching Kristine Ramirez's car. Officers found a firearm in the glove compartment of the vehicle after Dumervil said there were no weapons in the car.

Dumervil, who signed a six-year, $61 million contract prior to the 2010 season, finished with 9½ sacks last season after a slow start.

After posting a $7,500 bond, Dumervil was set free Saturday night.

Dumervil is a Miami-area native, although he has spent much of the offseason in the Denver area. Broncos veterans are required to report to training camp on July 25.

Aggravated assault with a firearm is a third-degree felony in Florida and carries a three-year mandatory prison sentence if convictied. The maximum punishment is a five-year prison term.
