The Seahawks released WR Mike Williams, the team announced Friday afternoon.
“We would like to thank Mike for his contributions over the past two seasons and we wish him well in the future,” said GM John Schneider in the team’s release.
Williams joined Seattle in 2010 as part of his comeback to the NFL. After missing the ’08 and ’09 seasons, Williams had 65 catches for 751 yards and two touchdowns in 2010 for his former college coach, Pete Carroll.
Last season, Williams played in 12 games with 10 starts, catching 18 passes for 236 yards and one touchdown.
Williams was the 10th overall pick by the Lions in the 2005 draft.
