The Packers released their financial report from the 2011 season and the team topped $300 million in total revenue for the first time.

The team’s net income rose from $17.1 million to $42.7 million. Increased television dollars helped boost the team’s national revenue by $8 million, part of a $19 million revenue increase that included $11 million in local revenue.

The report indicated that expenses for the organization dropped during last year’s work stoppage.

“We’re investing it in the stadium and improving the gameday experience for our fans,” said team president and CEO Mark Murphy. The Packers have a $143-million expansion plan in place, adding two HD video boards and a new north-side gate and viewing platform for 2012 and 6,700 new seats in the south endzone for 2013.

The Packers are the league's only publicly-owned franchise.
